Jean-Michel COMME

JM was the pioneer for Biodynamics of the Great Growths in Bordeaux, France. He developed the famous biodynamic program at Château Pontet-Canet where he was the technical director for more than 31 years.  During his career, he has emphasized innovation, bringing horses back in the vineyards, and designing cellars. He is now bringing his experience to wineries around the world to educate and implement genuine principles of working with and understanding nature.


Corinne COMME

On top of being the proprietor and winemaker at Château Du Champ des Treilles, Corinne also has earned the trust of several wineries in France, Italy, Portugal and the United States for which she intervenes as a consultant to help them achieve not only their vineyard’s health, but the entire health of their business. She has helped improve many companies with their wine quality, research and development and business strategies. Her approach is a global view as she has first hand experience running her own successful winery.

Growing

We have developed an alternative way of growing that genuinely adapts to the terroir. We are presenting a unique way of thinking with a true understanding of our surrounding environment that goes beyond biodynamics.

The goal of COMME Consulting is to help growers improve fruit quality by guiding them through the necessary philosophy and process  that we call Harmonie Globale, that is most appropriate for their site(s). Our approach makes farming accessible and understandable. The idea is to provide growers and vintners with the tools to precisely farm according to their location, without following a standard recipe.


This is the beginning of a virtuous circle. 

Winemaking

Part of the virtuous circle is about using the wine as a tool to understand the vineyard, and to prolong by the winemaking the philosophy based on respect of the vineyard. We can help educate and guide winemakers how to connect with the vineyards resulting in more thoughtful, integrative approach of winemaking. Winemaking goes beyond the fermentation process, it’s not complete until it is in the bottle. With many years of experience and highly rated wines, we can assist the winemakers to make the best final blend possible. It is a crucial step to define the finished product.

Winery

Tanks and cellars are the continuity of all the work that was accomplished in the vineyard. The proper cellar is the best ally in the understanding of a vineyard, vintage after vintage. We have created strong relationships with architecture firms, in Europe and United States, to bring a technical input to the design of cellars, that are functional and  answer the specific needs of the vineyard, from the winery building to the vessels it contains.
